The Plumstead Village Sign was paid for by the Plumstead 2000 Fund under the chairmanship of David Ramsbotham. It was designed by Doreen Lang, and unveiled with much ceremony in the summer of 2000. The event was recorded on VHS video tape and subsequently transcribed to a digital file by David Ramsbotham. The video can be viewed below.
The video gives a fascinating glimpse at many of the village residents at the turn of the century.
